On Sunday, the best of the best of Hollywood gathered for the biggest red carpet event, the Oscars, where everyone was expected to be fashionably flawless. But, on the biggest night for actors and actresses, some of our favorites went horribly wrong with their dress and surprised us with an array of appalling looks, landing on the worst dressed list of 2013!

I believe in showing off cleavage on the red carpet, but at the Oscars you should be aiming at elegance and class rather than vulgarity. Brandi Glanville definitely crossed the line at yesterday’s event with a barely there bodice that was seconds away from a wardrobe malfunction. And, wait that wasn’t it; it also included a thigh high slit which just went way too overboard. Like I said, a plunging neckline is fabulous (Remember Katherine McPhee at Golden Globes!) but Ms. Glanville just did not know where to stop!

For our daily lives, we love the out of bed /messy look, but we expect more from the celebrities at Hollywood’s biggest night.  Helena Bonham Carter turned up on the red carpet looking rather les miserables in a messy hairstyle and an unflattering Vivienne Westwood gown which resembled white and black crepe paper from an art studio. Although Helene Bonham Carter has always been notorious for her wacky outfits, it is high time that she got her dress sense right.

Overall, I was rather impressed with the fashion at this year’s Oscars! While I do think there was a lack of innovation and some of the obsolete silhouettes really had me yawning, the night stayed classy and elegant, just as the Oscars should be.

Who do you think was the worst dressed?
