Two weeks ago, the Black Eyed Peas performed together on the set of American Idol. Now, Will.i.am plans to set out on his own to perform again on the Idol stage April 15 with his song from the new 20th Century Fox animated film “Rio,” also set to premier in theaters that day.

The song, called “Hot Wings (I Wanna Party)” features Jamie Foxx, who will also be performing on Idol April 15. While the song is not being released as a single, Will.i.am said he fully anticipates it becoming a viral sensation. Appearing on Idol in front of millions of Americans will certainly help it gain some traction.

The film tells the story of a macaw named Blu who takes a journey from his luxurious home in Minnesota to Rio de Janeiro. It features the voices of Hollywood stars like Anne Hathaway, Jesse Eisenberg (The Social Network) , George Lopez, and Jamie Foxx. Will.i.am and Jamie Foxx even helped create the music on the soundtrack, which also features Taio Cruz and Sergio Mendes.
