Here, here! The gathering of all those part of the “I Heart J.R.R. Tolkien” fan club has commenced! The trailer for The Hobbit 2: The Desolation of Smaug was released earlier this week, much to the excitement of many. Nerds…assemble! In a matter of two minutes, I was able to determine why this will be a box office success.

Because of Smaug the dragon? Yawn, no, we’ll just get Khalessi to eradicate him. Because Bilbo is so adorable? No. Because Evangeline Lily from “Lost” will be in it? DEFINITELY NOT (more on this later). There is only ONE reason why we are excited for the return of the series in its second installment. Two words:

WELL, ALRIGHT! Christmas in June! Good looking out, Santa!!

The dashingly handsome Oralndo Bloom is making his first appearance in the film adaption of J.R.R. Tolkien’s, “The Hobbit”. When was the last time we even saw Bloom in a film? Let me spare you the counting; 2011. YEARS. YEARS. Long years sans the spectacular brunette. Finally, he’s back, looking so lush in his golden locks. Are we convinced he’s an angel yet? Yes. He’s an angel.

You know what’s not an angel? Evangeline Lily. Actually, she probably is one as well, (not Bloom status, though). Let me explain my rash statements. She is most known for her character as Kate Austen on “Lost”. On the show she was responsible for single-handedly ruining everything. Objectively speaking, of course. Naturally, I am rather hesitant about her casting, especially since she wasn’t in the novel, meaning she was just an addition for the movie. Great, more random casting. It didn’t work out too well for Talisa in “Game of Thrones”, now did it?! She seems to be in every single scene that Legolas is in…if they are a couple…..oh boy, my rage is getting the best of me.

Back to the positive side, there are of course other things that are worth mentioning besides Bloom, like Smaug, or the actual storyline of Bilbo setting out to save Erebor. Haha but no cares.

Orlando, thank you for returning.

Check out the trailer, and for more enjoyment, watch Orlando Bloom and other cast members as they watch hardcore fan’s reactions to the trailer.

Will you be going to see Orlando Bloom in this new role in “The Hobbit 2″ ?
