Now I love my stilettos, pumps and wedges just as much as the next girl, but lately I have taken a second look at sneakers with this huge influx of cute sporty shoes on the runways and at my favorite stores. Every girl needs to give her feet a break once in a while and now it can be done stylishly!

At first, I was a little weary and stayed far away from the sneaker-heel hybrids and I recommended that my friends do the same. They were confusing for me and I couldn’t quite picture an outfit that would be appropriate for the new trend. I thought sneakers on the runway were just a travesty, but I will share some of the sneakers I have seen that changed my mind and some outfit inspiration.

I think these Free People crochet sneakers can be paired with shorts, capris, or light colored skinny jeans for a cute spring look. I would wear these sneakers with an array of outfits — even a summer dress. They’re so versatile. I love the lace details and the colors easily blends with any spring color palette. These are adorable. I could see stars like Vanessa Hudgens or Miley Cyrus wearing these. Who says sneakers can’t be chic?

These coral studded Givenchy sneakers are amazing. They are edgy and sweet at the same time with the gold spikes and the coral color. I can see them paired with a skinny jean or even a shorts. These shoes will definitely make a statement where ever they go. I would recommend a simple white shirt and skinny jean to really give these shoes the attention they deserve. Um want them now!

What do you think about the sneaker trend? Will you be investing in a pair this spring or will you wait for fall? Tweet @emcblue
