Friends that are always there to make a witty comment, share an insightful thought about one another’s love lives, and when everything comes crashing down, they are a shoulder to lean on. Friends are always the backbone of every great show. Let’s take a look at a few of the best tv friendships!

Meredith Grey and Cristina Yang have a unique and thoughtfully written friendship that is simply one of the best. If you watch Grey’s Anatomy (You should be), than you know that these two are die-hard best friends. I love how they call each other their “person.” Grey and Yang have been through quite a lot with each other; bombs, shootings, drowning incidents, and being stuck in the woods together are just the bigger things these ladies have supported each other through.

The creator of the show, the brilliant Shonda Rhimes, has said that they are the true romance of the series. Their love for each other is simply unconditional and they love each other just as much as the men in their lives. One of my favorite quotes is when Cristina says, “If I murdered someone, she’s the person i’d call to help me drag the corpse across the living room floor. She’s my person.” Everyone wants that kind of friend.

Another fake friendship that I utterly adore is Blair and Serena (also known as B & S). These gorgeous gossip girls may have brutal fights that realistically would probably be friendship enders, but they are always they’re for each other when it comes down to it. They consider each other sisters and treat each other as such. Even if one of them is wrong, they have one another’s back.

When Serena has a big secret and goes to Blair in the first season, Blair says, “We’re sisters. You’re my family, what is you is me. They’re is nothing you could ever say to make me let go. I love you.” Turns out S thought she killed someone (Are we sensing a theme here?) But that is the kind of friendship I admire. Even through all the dramatic, ridiculous fights, they want whats best for each other and protect each other fiercely.

And finally, you can’t really talk about friendship without mentioning the four fabulous ladies of Sex and the City. Carrie, Samantha, Miranda, and Charlotte are all quite different but they fit perfectly together. These women (I know it’s fiction) have what everyone woman wants, best friends that understand them and will never leave their side. They vent to each other, they laugh with each other, and they hold each other’s hand whenever it is needed. They can talk about anything without holding back.

Everybody with a deep adoration for this show remembers the famous quote when Charlotte says, “Don’t laugh at me, but maybe we could be each other’s soulmates, and then we could let men be just these great nice guys to have fun with.” Sex and the City is the perfect show that demonstrates how friendship can be equally important as having a man.

What are your all time favorite tv friendships?
