During the day I must check my email about one hundred times. My inbox is always flooded with messages about classes, homework, exams, meetings and extracurriculars, and sometimes, if I am very very lucky, pictures of cute animals. Have you ever noticed how people love staring at photo after photo of cute, furry baby animals? These photos prove to be an instant de-stresser during the busy work day and instantly put one in a happy mood, momentarily taking our minds off of the task at hand.

The popular Spanish jewelry company, Tous, knows exactly how adorable animals effect us. The firms 2013 spring campaign is centered around none other than Tito the pomeranian. The pup is photographed posing with model Lou Lou Roberts and is decked out in necklaces from the brands latest collection. The photographs themselves are beautiful. Having been taken by Mario Sorrenti, the scene is full of bejeweled tones and gorgeous flowers, both of which just scream: SPRING!

I think using Tito as part of the photos was a wonderful idea. After months of harsh weather, it is so nice to flip through photos that are both pretty and happy. My eye is immediately drawn to the dogs adorable bear like features, yet I cannot help but also immediately see the gems that have been placed around his neck, making it both a fun yet successful ad campaign.

Many times I find jewelry ads to be quite formal. With serious jewels and valuable metals, it is hard to for companies to find ways to advertise that are not solemn. By using a happy, furry creature, Tous manages to steer clear of all seriousness and instead comes off as fun. Model Lou Lou Roberts adds an elegant feature to the photos and together, Tito and Roberts are quite a pair!

What do you think of using animals in ad campaigns?
