For all the fashion conscious people, getting constant inspiration is necessary in order to be up to date with the latest styles. Just a while back, we had Blair and Serena from Gossip Girl to satisfy our fashion needs, but ever since the show has ended, we’ve been desperately surfing through channels for fashion forward shows to take its place.  These series have definitely caught our eyes.

Downton Abbey: When everyone is adoring the 1920s look these days, Downton Abbey definitely is one of the biggest fashion inspirations. Based in post Edwardian era in England on a certain Crawley family, the show depicts style, glamour and sophistication in various ways.

The Crawley sisters, the main characters of the show, definitely have brought out some new styles to follow. Apart from the 20s flapper dress, you can dress yourself in some ankle length skirts or empire waist dresses in pastel colors and floral prints.

New Girl: Based on a 20 something Jessica, who moves in with three other guys after a messy break up, this television series is not only funny but also very fashionable. Zooey Daschanel, playing Jess, surprises us by blending  lots of bright colors and bold patterns to create adorable, stylish and completely unique outfits. Wear a mix match of prints, add contrasting ballet flats or pull off a little red dress; that’s definitely Jess!

Carrie Diaries: We haven’t gotten enough from Carrie Bradshaw, and now there’s a prequel to the famous and fabulous Sex and the City, revolving around the teenage years of Carrie in Connecticut in the 80s. While Carrie here hasn’t been exposed to Manolos, she has a “C” pendant acting as a prelude to the nameplate necklace in SATC.

While 80s were not the best period in fashion to follow, Carrie’s style in the show surely has a stylish and refined edge to it. And, unlike Carrie from SATC, Carrie in the 80s will be seen in Forever 21, Urban Outfitters etc. we can afford the same pieces!

Pretty Little Liars: This mysterious show with a perfect blend of drama and romance, also has an intriguing wardrobe to die for. The show is great for fashion inspiration and style, because all the four main characters have different styles of their own. There is trendy hipster Spencer, clean sophisticated sense of Hanna, Emily who is evolving from comfortable sporty to sexy and Aria who stands out in her offbeat quirky outfits. To go for this look, try emulating the look of fishnet stockings, ruffles and feathers.

Suits: Based  in a piping hot New York law firm, Harvey Spector comes out with a precise wardrobe to match. While one might think the show is all about Suits, but it’s not. The show evidently brings out power dressing in women, through the character of Donna and Rachel. Their style is characterized by sharp well-tailored dresses and polished pencil skirts. This style from Suits is definitely a huge inspiration for work wear and power play.
