The crooning octogenarian is releasing The Best is Yet to Come, his duet with Puerto Rican pop star, Chayanne. This single is a little taste of what the world will get when Mr. Bennett releases his latest compilation of duets. Differing from his last two albums, Duets and Duets II, this album will be titled Viva Duets, and will contain collaborations with some of the Latin community’s most prominent artists including Marc Anthony and Gloria Estefan. The album is slated for an October release.

According to billboard.com, the album will have recordings in English, Spanish, and Portuguese. Billboard also noted that the ” only non-Bennett song featured on the album is duet with Vicente Fernandez on Dean Martin’s Return To Me.” Bennett stated about his recording experience that “[e]ach of these artists were so warm and welcoming that there was an instant rapport…Latin music has always been about melody and harmony and a lot of soul, so there was a very close artistic connection with each duet guest.  I am absolutely thrilled about the record.” Bennett’s last album, Duets II, featured The Lady is a Tramp, a duet with Lady Gaga, and of course, Body and Soul, the posthumously released duet with the late Amy Winehouse. The album made it into the number 1 spot on the Billboard 200, making Bennett, at 85, the oldest person to ever accomplish such a feat.

The current track listing  is as follows:

“For Once In My Life” with Marc Anthony
“Don’t Get Around Much Anymore” with Miguel Bose
“The Very Thought of You” with Ana Carolina
“The Best Is Yet to Come” with Chayanne
“The Good Life” with Franco DeVita
“Who Can I Turn To?” with Gloria Estefan
“Return to Me (Regresa A Mi)” with Vicente Fernandez
“Blue Velvet” with Maria Gadu
“Just in Time” with Juan Luis Guerra
“Are You Havin’ Any Fun?” with Dani Martin

“The Way You Look Tonight” with Thalia

“Cold, Cold Heart” with Vicentico

What do you think? Is this album going to sell like the last one? Tthat would give him the opportunity to break his own record (no pun intended) and that would be pretty noteworthy, if you ask me. I’m actually looking forward to this. I think it is so commendable that Tony Bennett is still performing and broadening into new territory. His willingness to still evolve as an artist while warming our hearts with his renditions of the classics has made him an icon and a legend.
