Tilda Swinton on the Cover of W

Tilda Swinton is now on the cover of W Magazine’s August issue. I just love this actress. Ever since I saw her in the “Chronicles of Narnia” as The White Witch, I have loved her elegance and her flamboyant style. Her look on the cover has an androgynous appeal which makes me worship her a hell of a lot more!

Check out some of her editorial pictures for the shoot she did with the magazine:

Blumarine’s wool coat and dress; Stella McCartney’s fleece wool and cashmere turtleneck; Tommy Hilfiger’s silk pants; J.W. Anderson’s cashmere skirt. Patricia Underwood for Chris Benz hat, Comme des Garçons belt, Maison Martin Margiela gloves, Rick Owens boots.

Céline’s cotton turtleneck

Acne’s wool jacket; Akris’s wool dress; Tommy Hilfiger’s silk pants. LaCrasia gloves.

Chloé’s leather jacket; Maison Martin Margiela’s polyurethane and polyester dress; Jil Sander’s cashmere and silk hooded turtleneck. Maison Martin Margiela gloves, Rick Owens boots

(Check out the rest of the spread here)

The whole editorial took place in Iceland (hence the iciness!) and was shot by photographer Tim Walker. “Planet Tilda” is up on W’s official website with some impeccable photography. The whole spread is kind of insane, with some out-of-this-world shots, but I sure look forward to a copy!

Tilda talks about her supposedly controversial film “We Need to Talk About Kevin,” along with her eclectic style, and also shares her fashion and style icons. This whole spread makes me question how people keep fashion in a box and admire how Tilda has actually gone outside the box and stepped out with her fashion sense. She gives ‘style’ a whole new statement and is actually waxing upon fashion as an art form–a statement which seems long gone in everybody’s dictionary.

Who said that Halle Berry, Kate Moss, Angelina Jolie and Reese Witherspoon are the Hollywood icons? It is Tillda Swinton, people. Tilda Swinton.
