Jacob Wysocki in "Terri"

Since the Sundance Film Festival in January, only a few films have emerged from it, including the Ed Helms comedy Cedar Rapids. Now, however, it looks like we’ll be seeing even more releases this summer with the emergence of three official trailers.

The Art of Getting By

This is the feature debut for writer/director Gavin Wiesen and stars Freddie Highmore (August Rush) and Emma Roberts (It’s Kind of a Funny Story, Scream 4) as two teenagers striking up a relationship. It looks to be pretty standard independent fare with Highmore playing your typical artistic loner. What could make it special, however, is the on-screen romantic pairing of him and Roberts. The film is scheduled for a June 17 limited release.

Terri

From director Azazel Jacobs (Momma’s Man), this is the story of a struggling overweight high school student (Jacob Wysocki) and his well-meaning but harsh vice principal, played by John C. Reilly. This one looks absolutely great as the trailer showcases the relationship between the two characters. Reilly is spot-on and Wysocki looks to be a welcome newcomer. Terri hits theaters on July 1.

Another Earth

This Sundance winner is about the discovery of a duplicate planet earth and its implications for a young scientist named Rhoda (Brit Marling) who on the same night experiences a tragic accident. It looks thought-provoking and beautiful and is directed and co-written by Mike Cahill. Another Earth receives a limited release on July 22.

With this news, the Sundance Grand Jury Prize winner Like Crazy starring Anton Yelchin and Felicity Jones also has a new release date for October 28.
