SAG Awards air this Sunday

The Screen Actors Guild Awards, better known as the SAG Awards, will be airing this Sunday night on TNT. The SAG Awards is probably the least watched award show out there—even less watched than the Critic’s Choice Awards which airs on the once great, now filled with hot messes network, known as VH1. I consider myself an award show enthusiast, and I haven’t even watched this one. It just seems kind of boring.

But this weekend, I am definitely going to be tuning in. Like the Golden Globes, the SAG Awards honors the best in movies and television and if there is any chance of Sofia Vergara making another hilarious bilingual acceptance speech, I need to see it.

Here are some of the lucky nominees up for the Actor, as it is so cleverly called.

The nominees for Outstanding Performance by an Actor and Actress in a Leading Role have been the same for all the award shows so far, so there is no need to go over that again. Let’s just say that George Clooney is dominating this season and so is the woman who could have made Britney Spears’ role in Crossroads Oscar-worthy, Meryl Streep.

However, there is a little change up in the category for Outstanding Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role. Armie Hammer and Nick Nolte both got nominations for their roles in J. Edgar and Warrior, respectively.

Armie Hammer in J. Edgar

The lovely Betty White is nominated in the Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Comedy Series category for Hot in Cleveland, but she is up against Sofia Vergara of Modern Family and Tina Fey of 30 Rock.

See the rest of the nominees here and tune in this Sunday!!!
