The Roots

For the past three years, The Roots have held a picnic to promote a new generation of music in their hometown of Philadelphia. This year, the picnic will be held on June 4th at Philadelphia’s Festival Pier at Penn’s Landing and the line-up has already been announced!

The past years, The Roots Picnic has featured artists like Public Enemy, Kid Cudi, Black Keys, Santogold, The Pipes and many more. This year the line-up is just as good, maybe even better, depending on the fan. The line-up includes: Nas, Wiz Khalifa, Esperanza Spalding (New Artist Grammy Winner), Yelawolf, Mac Miller and many more. The Roots will open up and close the show and will also back up some of the artists through out the show. Tickets are a reasonable price for those interested on going.

The Roots put this picnic together to get fans of different music together and open up the opportunity for fans to hear some new music and get to know the new generation of music. The event has been one of the hottest events to attend the past three years. With the great line-up this year, nice venu and good weather, I’m thinking it’s going to be one of the hottest events to attend this year as well.
