The Olsen Twins Carrying Their Line's Handbags at the CFDA Awards

Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen’s luxury label The Row finally introduced its first line of handbags, which have been available since this Wednesday at Barneys New York. The debut handbag collection from the designer duo and sisters is sleek and sophisticated and blends classic glamour with contemporary chic. Classic and clean define the Olsen twin’s first collection of highly covetable carryalls and this is synonymous with the minimal chic aesthetic The Row is known for.

The young designers wanted there to be a variety of styles in the collection, so there are a total of nine handbags, including a framed doctor bag and spare backpacks, and all come in the most luxurious of leathers.  There’s also the Day Luxe (a structured top-handle tote), the Classic Shoulder (a long-strap messenger), the Metal Frame and four other designs in fine finishes such as ostrich, alligator and lizard. The Twin Mini cross-bag, complete with two zippers and featuring different skins on each side, is smart and chic for its two-in-one component.

The fashion-forward Mary-Kate and Ashley effectively created a collection of perfect basics for the modern woman with their new handbag line. The bags are stylish yet functional and the type of classics that will last for years. There is nothing cheap about the handbags in the collection—priced at $2,000-$15,000—but those who can afford them will find the sturdy and structured bags fashioned from luxury skins and leather to be great investment pieces for the future. Besides Barneys New York, the handbag collection is also being sold at various specialty boutiques nationwide.
