Gucci Spring 2011 line

When it comes to wardrobe choices for the spring or summer time, usually one goes for the simple whites, grays, blues, or even stripes or patterns, adding just a little pop of color somewhere.  This hot season, it seems as though the fashion world is bored with that concept, and designers are putting color everywhere! Designers are no longer trying to be discrete.  Now they want everybody to see their outfits from miles away. This bold, bright color trend, called ‘colour blocking,’ is perfect for the sunny days and very fun to wear, but it has to be pulled off in the right way, or the look can go wrong fast.

In the Gucci 2011 Spring line, it is nothing but color, color, and more color! There were a couple of looks where the designer went for the sexy black on black, or went royal with all gold everything. But for the most part, the designer was going for shock value with various colors. The outfits were what popped on the models, the shoes matched the color scheme perfectly, and the makeup and hair took a back seat by being very simple and natural. This line has created a lot of buzz within the fashion world, and also a lot of wear from celebrities, even landing looks on the latest fashion magazine covers! It is something unexpected, but a pleasant surprise. This line has created so much of a frenzy, the looks from the show have already been duplicated for more money conscious shoppers.

The key to pulling this look off is to wear compatible colors, have a tailored, polished look, and have fun with the colors!
