Princesses of York Beatrice and Eugenie at the Royal Wedding

Across the pond, it is considered the norm for women to wear a hat when they attend a wedding (remember all of Kate’s adorable headpieces she wore to friends’ weddings?). So you can bet that for nuptials as high-profile as those of Will and Kate, the ladies brought out their fiercest attention-getting toppers. The hats ranged from classic shapes to the somewhat inconceivable, and they were all interesting to look at.

One of the most interesting pieces of headwear came from Princess Beatrice of York, who accessorized her beige Valentino Couture ensemble with a similarly colored Philip Treacy hat. Treacy is known for his amazing headwear creations, and the Royal Wedding certainly would be the place to wear one. Beatrice’s hat seemed to stem from a large ribbon at the top, and continue into a circle, almost like a vertical halo.

Victoria Beckham was also looking super-chic, as usual, in a navy dress of her own design that was simple, stylish, and hid her baby bump. Posh also rocked a Philip Treacy hat, hers being a simple black affair, except for the extra-large spiral across the top of it.

Another notable ensemble came from Tara Palmer Tomkinson, who was in electric blue from head to toe, including her boat-shaped Treacy hat with a large bloom in the center.
