Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert with their unique brooch bouquet

Many brides are opting to abandon the traditional bridal bouquet. The carefully crafted floral arrangements, which serve as one of the most anticipated pieces in a bride’s ensemble, are being replaced by an alternative component. Brooches!

A brooch bouquet is composed of an assortment of multicolored, vintage brooches. Many brides are choosing to carry brooch bouquets down the aisle, because they are beautiful and can be kept forever. No longer do brides have to worry about the flowers from their wedding bouquets dying.

US Weekly reported that singer-songwriter Miranda Lambert asked each of her wedding guests to bring a brooch to the ceremony. The brooches were then combined and crafted into a four-pound wedding bouquet.

You may wonder why someone like me, who is not even close to walking down the aisle, would be obsessed with brooch bouquets. Well it all began a couple of weeks ago. During one of my 20 daily Facebook visits, I saw a link to watch The OFFICIAL ROMANTIC Wedding Highlights posted by YouTuber MyNaturalSistas. The video depicted the wedding of India Mitchell and Lilo Davis. Though I was in awe of the entire wedding ceremony, India’s brooch bouquet especially intrigued me.

This past year, I have found myself developing quite a brooch collection. Scoping out thrift stores and flea markets for a uniquely crafted broach has become a delightful challenge. Though I haven’t found many ways to wear them in my everyday attire, I think brooches are classic pieces. Every woman should own at least one. Hey, maybe my collection will come in handy one day.

Brooch bouquet anyone?
