Through the years of Taylor Swift being in the limelight, she has gotten the reputation of being America’s Sweetheart. She’s the kind of girl you would love to hate, but you just can’t find anything bad about her to hate on! Annoying, right?
Everyone always automatically leaps at the chance of blaming the next boy who breaks our little princess’s heart. But doesn’t it take two to break up? Why isn’t anyone quick to blame TayTay?
John Mayer, Jake Gyllenhaal, Joe Jonas, Taylor Lautner, Conor Kennedy, just to name a few that allegedly broke our beloved Taylor’s heart. And now, we can add 1D’s Harry Styles to the list of men that helped Taylor Swift maintain her title.
1. John Mayer: Oh, puhlease! We all knew this one was bad news from the very beginning, judging by his history with women alone. Even Swift’s mom was against this “relationship,” if you can even call it a relationship. But alas, she still dedicated a (vindictive) song towards him.
Dear John, I see it all now that you’re gone
Don’t you think I was too young to be messed with?
Maybe she should take a lesson from her own lyrics, and go for someone more her age?
2. Jake Gyllenhaal: He actually gave me a little tingling of hope that he might possibly be the one for our dear Swifty. Silly me! Before the year was up, this head-over-heels, PDA-sharing duo called it quits. And a few months later, Swift released yet another hit single “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together.” Are you seeing the pattern yet?
3. Joe Jonas: And let’s not forget there was that swift relationship with Joe Jonas which ended in a 27 second phone call. Okay, so this one was an exception. Jonas deserved to be publicly humiliated for breaking up over a phone call! Besides the jerk move, this relationship gave her 2 hit songs for her Fearless album- “Forever and Always,” and “Better than Revenge.” The latter was technically dedicated to Camilla Belle for stealing Jonas away from her, but we’ll give this to him.
Has this become a pattern for her? Date a few boys, then release a top-selling album? Whenever we hear about a new boy in her life, do we automatically just think “Ooh, wonder what song she’ll write about him?” Should she be looking in a different direction next time? Maybe try a boy of her own age?
Uh oh, what is this? Was our suspicions correct? Swift tweeted this on the evening of January 10, 2013, only a few weeks after she broke Harry’s heart. Even if this is how she rolls, I’m ecstatic to hear this Harry-inspired song! Who isn’t!
What do you think? Is she only dating these boys for inspiration for a couple more hit songs?Tags: artist, harry styles, inspiration, jake gyllenhaal, Joe Jonas, john mayer, music, role model, songs, Taylor Swift
