The red carpet at the MTV Movie Awards was surprisingly tame Sunday night where the stars dazzled in bright whites, floor-length gowns and even crop tops. I have to say I was more impressed and less bewildered, but several celebs still managed to catch me off guard.

I loved how Karlie Kloss incorporated two trends with the crop top and the bright white two-piece Cushnie et Ochs number with a front slit. Her shoes with the thick buckle added the perfect touch for the summer look. Kylie Jenner also decided to go with white for the Los Angeles event. Sister Kim Kardashian decided to go with the opposite side of the color spectrum with a loose black Saint Laurent piece — was it an attempt at hiding the baby bump? She’s been getting no slack lately for her maternity fashion choices, but if you ask me this is how an expecting mother should look. The dress doesn’t look overly uncomfortable and she is absolutely glowing!

Selena Gomez and Snooki decided to go glam with sequin dresses. Selena paired her short, sleeved gold ensemble with a fishtail braid and nude heel. Snooki’s floor-length gown and big curls were shockingly classy. Not to mention, the whole Jersey Shore cast including Sammi, Ronnie, and the Situation looked great in their suits and gowns — a welcomed escape from the mini-dresses and t-shirt attire of past award shows.

While many stars where on point with the choices, some left me scratching my head. One in particular was Ke$ha‘s dark-hippy look. I was confused with her whole outfit. Where was she going with this? I could have seen her pulling off the Coachella-inspired look without the black shaw or the hat. Well at least she wasn’t wearing a cigarette butt on her head like “Pitch Perfect” star Hana Mae Lee. I would have no negative comments about Hana’s chic LBD by Marco and her Ferragamo lace-up heels if it wasn’t for the Lady Gaga-esqe prop on her head. It takes away from what could have been a showstopper!

Now I don’t know whether to love or hate Snoop Dogg‘s look. He was decked out in a “red velvet” fur coat with a plaid shirt and slacks. The coat is very Snoop, but the rest of the outfit is a little confusing. What do think about the California rapper’s red carpet look? I was also left a little perplexed with Kerry Washington‘s Michael Kors piece. I like the high-low trend, but the color was all off for me.
