You know those girls you just couldn’t wait to watch trip on stage when receiving their high school diploma at graduation? We all had some “frienemies” growing up and if I know one thing is true: success is the biggest slap in the face. It is hard to find a more public form of success than that of which celebrities experience throughout their daily lives.
Although some high school friendships combust, others are forever. Take Nicole Kidman and Naomi Watts for example. Kidman was born in Hawaii, only to move to Australia at the ripe age of four years old. It was at North Sydney Girls’ High School where Kidman meant her long-time friend, Naomi Watts. Inseparable ever since, the Aussie sweethearts often acted and did a little modeling together. Watt’s even managed to date her best friend’s sister’s boyfriend (which is so high school). The two were able to keep their friendship afloat despite all the controversy and when Kidman became the first Australian actress to win an Oscar in 2003, Watts was one of the first people she called.
The not-so-dynamic-duo, Lady Gaga and Nicky Hilton, were also classmates back in 2004. The media claims that Lady Gaga went to school with both the Hilton sisters and when asked about what it was like to grow up with them, Gaga confesses that she isn’t really sure. She was more of a misfit at the Convent of the Sacred Heart in New York City, and because Paris was older, the former reality TV star was barely seen.
But the attention-seeking pop star had heard enough gossip that she was able to describe the Hilton sisters’ as “clean” and “perfect” in an interview with Elle Magazine. Still on different Hollywood paths, Lady Gaga has far from out-grown her quirky nature (seeing as she is the talk of every red carpet she encounters) and Nicky Hilton has just far from grown-up.Tags: childhood, frienemies, High school, Lady Gaga, Naomi Watts, Nicky Hilton, Nicole Kidman, paris hilton
