Karl Lagerfeld at Chanel's Little Black Jacket Event

On Wednesday night some of fashion’s most prestigious names congregated in a contemporary gallery in SoHo where Karl Lagerfeld and Carine Roitfeld hosted a party in honor of the New York opening of the Chanel Little Black Jacket Exhibit.

The exhibit, which has already been shown in Tokyo, features 113 pictures of models and A-list celebrities, like Kanye West, Anna Wintour, and Sarah Jessica Parker adorned in the French classic. It comes as a celebration of the book orchestrated by Lagerfeld, fittingly named The Little Black Jacket: Chanel’s Classic Revisited, where he redesigns and styles the jacket traditionally worn by women, into a modern sophisticated item that is able to be worn by both sexes.

Stars like Pharrell Williams, Zoe Kravitz, Lily Collins, and Penn Badgley attended the event and then moved onto a small dinner at the Balthazar Restaurant where rapper Theophilus London performed and model, Poppy Delevingne, served as a DJ for the night. In a brief interview with Stylist.com, London called his experience being shot in the jacket one of his “proudest moments.”

The Little Black Jacket exhibit, located at 18 Wooster Street in SoHo, opens to the public June 8th and will continue admission until June 15th from noon to 7 p.m. So if you’re in the area, a trip to the exhibit to experience the Little Black jacket for yourself.
