The much-anticipated release of Whitney Houston’s last film has finally arrived. Sparkle is in theaters now, and Hollywood celebrated with a star-studded premiere. Houston’s family, friends and the superstar actors of the film hit the red carpet in style.

Sparkling Gowns

From Jordin Sparks’ crystal-laden gown to Bobbi Kristina’s glittered body-hugging dress, the sparkle was thoroughly represented on the carpet. Female stars favored glitter and crystal-studded trim along with metallic accessories. At first thought, wearing sparkles at this particular premiere may seem cheesy. However, these stars showed up with just the right amount of glitz.

Old Hollywood Glamour

The main cast looked as though they were transported directly from 1960′s Hollywood. With floor length gowns and striking makeup, Jordin Sparks, Tika Sumpter and Carmen Ejogo are perfect examples of the vintage era of glamour. The leading men, Derek Luke, Omari Hardwick and Mike Epps, were equally fashionable. Each wore stand-out tuxedos. Omari Hardwick and Mike Epps even opted for an accompanying bow tie.

Underdressing Just Right

The red carpet at movie premieres usually host a handful of people who are underdressed for the event. With the stars decked out head to toe in formal wear, anything less would seem tacky and inappropriate. But for this event, the handful of attendees in less formal attire fit right in. Niecy Nash and Keke Palmer both ditched the dresses for a more casual pants (and shorts) suits. Both ladies looked summer chic. They paired their more casual outfits with cute pumps and perfect makeup.

Are you looking forward to seeing Sparkle this weekend? What was your favorite look from the event?
