Red lips at Jason Wu

Spring 2012 is right around the corner. Okay, well maybe not, but it’s time to start saving up some extra cash before the holidays so you can try out these fabulous trends!

Many of the lipsticks on the runway were in statement colors such as reds, blues, purples, grays, and oranges. Designers such as Jason Wu want the lip to make an impact on the face of their models. However, mostly all of them are  matte, giving off a natural allure.

The 50s inspired cat-eye liner is making a comeback, and staying black most of the time. For a modern twist, models sported lush orange and red liners that really make the eye pop! Also seen were various eye stencils in all different shapes and colors, among fiercely colored fake eyelashes and full, bold eyebrows.

The “I just jumped out of the pool” look is the hair-to-do this Spring, as seen in Alexander Wang’s show . To get this carefree style, you can use mousse instead of gel because it goes through the hair better and looks less sticky. Forget dip-dyed hair because now it’s all about locks in crazy shades such as rose gold, blue, orange, red, and contrasting colors. And once again, the 50s is creeping up on us this season. Beehives, bobs, and rollers are all in style. To obtain these luscious, posh trends, just think Grace Kelly-esque mixed with Gwen Stefani.

Say no to blush! Cheeks are being swiped with a natural hue, giving a rich summer glow. It’s not really a bronzed look, but more of a la nautrale fresh face. To add to the trend, brush the same color on your eyelids and lips. It won’t even look like your wearing any makeup!
