Sondre Lerche

The sexiest thing to roll out from Norway, Sondre Lerche has been slowly winning over his American audiences for the past decade. He reached an even larger scale of success when he was asked to compose the soundtrack for Dan in Real Life. Actually, during an interview with NYMag, in response of his move to Brooklyn, New York from Bergen, Norway (his hometown of where he is a HUGE success) Sondre said this:

This is going to sound really cocky and silly, but I found it really exciting to be somewhere where I wouldn’t constantly be reminded of who I was. The way my music came out, it was a mainstream success in a very small country. I always found it really nice and cool when I came here, to have a parallel life in America where I was more of an indie niche artist. I guess it sounds strange that you would sort of move to New York to get away from it all.

After a pretty tame–albeit beautifully sounding release of his last album, Heartbeat Radio, it’s good to see what Sondre has in store to rev his audience up. His first single of his new, self-titled album, ‘Domino’ was premiered on Stereogum earlier this March. Reverting back to the grandness of Faces Down, ‘Domino’ is a quality track worthy of being looped. Sondre Lerche’s album comes out June 7th in the US.
