Solange Knowles is a star in her own right. She’s an incredible singer, songwriter, and mom. Now, she can add DJ to that long list of accomplishments as well as budding fashionista. She’s been photographed by prominent fashion magazines, including a collaboration with Vogue where she was profiled for a month wearing her favorite outfits.
What makes Solange’s style so cool is that she’s fearless and will try anything. She mixes prints and patterns effortlessly and she’s not afraid of color. Although the media and public want to compare her to her big sis, Beyonce. The truth is the two couldn’t be more different music and style wise. It was hard to narrow down Solange’s best looks, but here are a few of her recent and best moments in fashion.
Solange celebrated Mother’s Day in this golden colored Carven top and shorts and studded Azzedine Alai sandals in suede. Although it looked like a romper, Solange played up the shape by adding a gold belt. The style has a playful element to it along with the retro sunglasses and ties on the side, but her hair and makeup definitely make the style more grown up. The sandals are amazing and add a bit of edge to the entire look. She looked perfect for a family outing and biking with her son in Central Park in New York.
Solange was the DJ at the Gucci & GQ private cocktail party this month. If she mixes tunes as well as she mixes prints and colors, then it was probably an eventful night. While she kept it simple in gold and black, it was all about the details. She wore a few pieces from the label, including a metallic and striped blazer, color block mini, a white draped top, and some amazing Gucci “Ophelie” T-strap heels. It was a very fashion-forward ensemble for the singer.
Solange met up with her big sister and niece in these casual sweatsuit style shorts and slouchy top last month. She combined high-end pieces like her black, quilted Chanel bag with Jeremy Scott x Adidas Originals Silver Wing Sneakers. The overall muted and gray color palette really worked, and sneakers are a fun way to transition into hotter months. And while this look is more informal than we usually see on Solange, those sneakers have enough pizzazz to keep Solange as the starlet to watch for on every fashion list.
Solange mixed and matched colors at the D’Usse Cognanc launch party earlier this month. She took a basic color palette of a black mini and white top and added a pop of color on the top. Her yellow Rag & Bone “Silver” tuxedo blazer is on-trend and perfect for spring and summer. The true standouts here, though, are Solange’s curly mane, clutch, red lips, and black and white strappy Bottega Veneta sandals in patent leather.
