Solange Knowles

Solange Knowles is known to some as the shadow of the big superstar we all adore, Beyonce. This may be a little true with Bey announcing her pregnancy, being married to the hottest in the rap game, Jay-Z, and the fascination we have with their lives. However, recently Solange has been receiving good attention with her latest funky cute fashion looks; it seems as though she has finally grown into her own.

Solange used to seem awkward and out of place with most of her fashion choices before, but now she is rocking the bigger than life Afro, her skin is glowing and her outfits have just been a breath of fresh air. Though her fashion seems over-the-top, it really is simple pieces put together in a different way than we are used to seeing.

Solange and Beyonce at J Crew show

Recently during fashion week, Solange was pictured with Beyonce and they were both attending a show. Though eyes were glued to her sister, once everyone stopped and looked at Solange, they were greeted with a pleasant surprise to the eyes. Her hair was the usual spunk and free flowing, she had a bright fuchsia pink, sleeveless ruffled-in-front-of-the-neck top, a polka dotted print blue cropped pant, paired with mustard yellow stiletto heels. This look was perfect for the ending of summer! It was adorable yet still womanly.

When attending an event, Solange pulled off a more casual yet very modern and sexy look. She was wearing a sheer (at the top) dress that was white and free flowing a little below her knees. Over this dress she wore a gray knitted sweater, rolled up at the elbows with an over-sized camel colored belt on top. An orange-ish yellow suede pump topped the look off perfectly. Once again this look is perfect for Fall!

Solange may not be the first Knowles woman we pay attention to, but since she has grown into her comfort zone and has gracefully matured in front of our eyes, she is a Knowles we need to focus on. Her fashion sense doesn’t scream “LOOK AT ME!” but yet once you do, you’ll be happy you did. Take a step out of the ordinary box, and be more creative and daring like Solange.
