Sean Kingston

Young Jamaican-American singer Sean Kingston was recently injured in a tragic jet ski accident in Florida.  Who’s Sean Kingston, you may ask?  Kingston came onto the scene in 2007 when he was only 17 years old and captured the hearts of young girls all over the country. His most popular song, “Beautiful Girls” reached number one on the US Billboard Hot 100 for three weeks and topped the UK Singles Chart along with many other international charts.

He grew up in Miami, Florida, and whenever he is fortunate enough to have some down time, he flies back home in hopes of catching up with his family and close friends. This was his plan, this past Sunday, when he was jet skiing through the famous South Beach with friends.

Sean Kingston and several others met on South Beach to ride jet skis, and when they approached a bridge, Kingston felt he would be able to slip underneath it. He realized only when it was too late that he and his female passenger, Cassandra Sanchez, wouldn’t fit.

“Both jet skis pulled out of the dock at the same time and we were going so fast we just blasted past them. When we turned a corner and crashed…they were so far behind us they didn’t even see us crash,” says Sanchez.

Sanchez claims she has pain in her jaw and she’s a little sore, but Kingston, on the other hand, is currently in Intensive Care.  Sanchez says, “They have a tube down his throat so he can’t really talk, but he is lucid and understands what’s going on.” Sanchez says doctors plan to keep Sean in the hospital for “a couple more weeks.”

A twitter trend was recently created, #prayforseankingston, because of all the fans that have been sending him best wishes.

Get well soon, Sean!
