EW.com is reporting that author Lauren Weisberger is working on a sequel for the book The Devil Wears Prada, which was released in 2003 and inspired the 2006 movie.
The sequel has a 2013 release date and is titled Revenge Wears Prada: The Devil Returns and is set to take place 8 years after the original. The original chronicled life at Runway magazine for Andrea “Andy” Sachs dealing with her editor Miranda Priestly and was partially based on Weisberger’s own experiences as Anna Wintour’s second assistant.
The follow-up has Andy editing at a Bridal magazine called The Plunge with her former rival Emily as she plans her own wedding to a new beau. However, it wouldn’t be a Devil Wears Prada sequel without the devil and sure enough, Miranda is still haunting Andy even though she no longer works for her.
With this sequel in the works, fans are no doubt wondering if a movie version will be on the horizon. If a movie deal is clinched, It would be great to see the original cast members which includes Emily Blunt and Stanley Tucci.Andy Sachs, anna wintour, Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt, EW.com, Lauren Weisberger, Meryl Streep, Miranda Priestly, Revenge Wears Prada: The Devil Returns, Stanley Tucci, The Devil Wears P
