What is going on with all these rappers having seizures? The latest incident was when up and coming rapper, Sammy Adams, fell to the ground and started shaking… mid performance!

Sammy Adams is a 25-year-old rapper from Boston. You may recognize his songs like “Only One,” “I Hate College,” “Driving Me Crazy” or “Coast to Coast.” He also made this “Trouble” remix of Taylor Swift’s hit song.

Sammy was in the midst of singing “Blow Up” during a Hurricane Sandy Relief concert in New Jersey when the episode went down. It is unclear as to why this happened. But like the other incidents, it is rumored to be the result of a newish, popular drug in the rap world. It’s a hallucinogen that is similar to cough syrup. It’s usually mixed with fruit juice and then sipped out of a cup. The drug is commonly known as “sizzurp,” “purple drank,” or “lean,” which I’m sure sounds familiar if you have listened to rap music in the past few years.

Others who have publicly suffered from these unknown seizures include: Lil Wayne, Rick Ross, Webbie, Tone Loc, etc.

Drugs confuse me. If you know something is really bad for you and may cause you to have seizures at random times, like I don’t know, in the middle of a performance that thousands of people have paid to see you complete, why would you do it?

Don’t worry… Sammy reported on Twitter that he is, infact, okay! And he has been “under the weather” :

Hopefully Sammy gets above the weather and stops doing whatever it was that made him have that scary seizure. We want him to stay healthy so we can see him become nice and successful!

What do you guys think about this string of seizures going around?
