Recently, Sam and his talented producer, Kurt Hugo Schneider, released a single featured in his upcoming album, “Me Without You.” As Kurt has stated in the description box, the talented duo has spent “many hours” bringing Sam’s incredible self-written songs to life “in the best possible way” and are finally ready to show the world. Check out the lyric video below.

What do you think? The lyric video probably has the least to do with the content in his upcoming album, but the videography definitely added a flare to the flawless composition. Personally, I think this is a great pre-album single release because while Sam is known for his original medleys, mashups, and covers, an original song with no associations with pre-existing songs definitely encourages a higher level of appreciation.

Here’s a little backstory that is probably the key to their success. Sam and Kurt actually began collaborating back in their high school days, and established a partnership during their days at Yale. Perhaps their longterm friendship provides the chemistry boosts the addictive combination of Sam’s voice and Kurt’s mixing and instrumental expertise. Nevertheless, the full album will be released on May 11, and until then, this single is currently available on iTunes.
