It seems like whenever a movie comes out and does well, a sequel after sequel follows. Most directors love when their movies do so well they get to make three more, but not Ron Howard, the director of “The Da Vinci Code” and “Angels and Demons,” who has decided not to direct “The Lost Symbol,” the sequel to “The Da Vinci Code.”
Deadline quoted an insider to the movie saying, Brown is tired of directing the same characters over and over again with a similar plot.
Instead, Howard is focusing on some of his new movies, including a Formula 1 film, “Rush.”
Credit should be given; not many directors are willing to put down a successful film and move on to something else. So here’s to Ron Howard for knowing when enough is enough and walking away.Tags: Angels and Demons, Deadline, Ron Howard, Rush, The Da Vinci Code, The Lost Symbol
