“I don’t see nothing wrong, with a little bump and grind.”
The King of R&B, R. Kelly, is back on the scene with his 12th studio album entitled Write Me Back, which is expected to be released on June 26, 2012. Kelly says that this album will be like no other; his ultimate mission for this particular album was to bring back “old school” themes to the R&B game. Write Me Back is the sequel to his last album, Love Letter, which contained his 2010 hit single, “When a Woman Loves,” which was nominated for a Grammy Award in 2011.
For the fans who are jumping off of the roof waiting for this album to drop, Write Me Back is currently available for online streaming and pre-order at certain locations.
According to Sheknows.com, the 16 tracks on this highly-anticipated album resemble themes of 60′s and 70′s R&B, paired with modern, up-tempo soul styles. So far, tracks “Lady Sunday,” “Share My Love,” and “One Step Closer” are among the most favorable by fans who have already streamed the album.
Kelly has sold over 50 million albums worldwide, released 11 studio albums, sold 35 million albums in the U.S. alone, and 15 million singles; R. Kelly knows exactly what direction he’s going in. Despite his legal issues, he has continued to produce best-selling music, and maintained a wide variety of fans and supporters. R. Kelly was named the most successful R&B male artist of the 1990′s.
