But hold the bubbly.

This season, an unlikely contender has joined the ranks in hot summer fashion, and it’s being seen in everything from purses to shoes.

Cork has made its way from the wine cellar to the hands of top-name designers including Lanvin, Christian Louboutin and Kate Spade.

The Eco-friendly product has also been used in colored bracelets. The cork is dyed in summer friendly colors like mint, pink and tangerine, making them a great accessory for any outfit.

Cork-based designs are a good staple for the summer because of their light color. It can be worn with almost any outfit and can be worn into the fall because of its warm tone, making it even more of an investment piece.

Celebrities too have been getting a piece of the cork action. Jessica Simpson was caught wearing a pair of cork heels from her Jessica Simpson shoe line.

Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton was also seen in a pair of Christian Louboutin cork heels.

Cork designs will definitely be sticking around — they’re trendy, versatile and eco-friendly!
