Phillip Lim

Phillip Lim is a top designer in the fashion world since the launch of 3.1 Phillip Lim in 2005. Celebrities like Rachel Bilson, Jessica Biel, Eva Mendes, and America Ferrera have all been seen rocking his casually chic fashion. What is it about his clothes that keeps everyone buying them?

Well according to NY Magazine it’s his unique blending of styles. “His womenswear look combines girlish refinement and laid-back ease with moments of quirky romance. Headbands splashed with Swarovski crystals and shift dresses adorned with pearls exemplify his burgeoning arty side.”

Now Lim is bringing his creativity overseas. He has just announced a new boutique, but you’d better hurry to check it out as it’s only temporary.

Lim's Selfridges' London store

The designer’s three month pop-up store at Selfridges London has opened today to much excitement. According to Lim, he hadn’t been to London in quite some time. He says to Belinda White, of the UK Telegraph, “You know it’s been six years since I was last in London – SIX YEARS! Too long. And now I’m finally here, I can only stay a few days. I wish could stay for the Jubilee but I do have a good excuse: I have a collection to make.”

He also mentions the possibility of a permanent London store. “I would love to open a store here some day. You know, London really embraced my label in such a big way, this is where I would like to open my first European store for sure.”

This may just be the time for a summer trip to London to check out the store while it lasts. Given he six year hiatus from London, it’s no guarantee another will be up again soon. Enjoy it while it lasts.
