You may know him from the hit MTV reality series Jersey Shore, but what you may not know is that underneath all that hair gel, Paul Delvecchio a.k.a Pauly D is a pretty good DJ. He has rapper 50 Cent backing his debut album, and was even ranked number 7 on the Forbes list of the world’s highest paid DJs this year. But, is he good enough to do a collaboration with pop diva Britney Spears?
At the Mixtape Festival in Hershey, PA, Pauly D told MTV news that he has a 50/50 chance of getting Spears to do one of his songs, saying “I’ve got my fingers crossed…It’s tough but I got a perfect song for her. If that happens, that’s a wrap.”
Luckily for Pauly D the odds may actually be in his favor considering he got to know Britney while performing as the opening act for the singer’s Femme Fatale tour back in 2011. Pauly also revealed that Spears had, in fact, listened to his song, adding “She listened to it … she likes it. She’ll let me know.” Now the question is, will Britney Spears have the nerve to turn down her former tour mate/opening act? We hope not.
However, in the off chance that Brit does say no, Pauly D’s first album will still flourish thanks to all the help he’s been getting. Since signing on with 50 Cent’s G-Unit Records, he has had the chance to work with several major artists to help his debut album rise to the top. Pauly states that his album will be “A mix between David Guetta and DJ Khaled” and will feature artists Big Sean, Jay Sean, and “a few others [he] can’t mention”. If his album really is anything like how he described, we’re sure it will be a success.
While we anxiously await DJ Pauly D’s debut album, in the meantime you can catch him on the sixth season of MTV’s Jersey Shore premiering October 4, 2012.Tags: 50 Cent, Big Sean, Britney Spears, collaboration, DJ Pauly D, G-Unit, Jay Sean, Jersey Shore, Pauly D
