Opening Ceremony Spring 2012 Lookbook

Fall is continuing to bloom and Spring is already being talked about. But as you know, the fashion world is continuous and never stops. Therefore talk about the upcoming Spring/Summer 2012 trends have already touched surface. Opening Ceremony, a more high-end playful line has recently released their lookbook for Spring/Summer 2012.

Opening Ceremony, a multifaceted retail environment that consists of shops, a showroom, and a private label collection, has established a new, creative international forum in downtown Manhattan. Also, it brings emerging American talent, both young and established designers together, as well as artists abroad.

“Each year, the unique commercial and cultural character of a visiting country is represented at Opening Ceremony by capturing the essence of the country’s consumer experience,” Opening Ceremony says.

The brand takes on the Olympics foundation and applies these elements towards fashion. Opening Ceremony has become known for collaborating with popular brands such as Levi’s, Timberland, Pendleton, Keds, Chloe Sevigny, and more.

Their latest collection is fun and creative, with inspiration from the major music festivals of the world, in England, Argentina, and the U.S. A few of the looks are soft and feminine, while some are feline-inspired. All of them are unique and I could definitely see some of the looks being worn during the day, then transitioned to night.

From the florals to stripes, lace to colorblock, all of the looks are statement-approved. The bra-tops and corsets are in and the ’90s have made a comeback with the plaid miniskirts, matching tops and bottoms, and even off-the-shoulder body con dresses.  Models Hyoni Kang, Daiane Sodre, and Camille Rowe are working it. The lipstick adds to their beauty and the cat faces are adorable and youthful. The photographer, Tim Barber, definitely captured their beauty because they look beautiful and add their own flavor.
