Mary-Kate & Ashley Olsen

Vogue recently released its special edition, second-annual Best Dressed issue. Blake Lively was on the cover of the first issue last year, and this year the theme is “Dynamic Duos.”  Who else could you put on the cover other than the Olsen sisters? When Mark Holgate, Vogue’s Fashion News Director and the Editor of the Best Dressed issue, was asked about the choice of the Olsen sisters as the best dressed, he said, “Are there any more chic, stylish, cool, and original sisters than Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen? They are incredibly stylish.”

I agree with Holgate 100%. I’ve been in love with the Olsen sisters since they played Michelle Tanner on the hit sitcom Full House, and I probably will always continue to love them. Even though some of the fashion choices haven’t been my favorite, there is no denying that these twins are incredibly stylish, interesting, and creative. Sometimes being a celebrity designer can cause people in the fashion industry to look down on you, but the Olsen sisters have proved themselves. Not only are they talented designers, they also know what to wear and how to style it.

The cover, photographed by Craig McDean, is stunning. It’s simple yet dramatic because of the lace covering the eyes of the sisters. The lace makes the sisters seem mysterious; however you can still see the emotion in the eyes, which I believe makes the cover.

The issue also contains trend reports and a list of style stars, but the main focus of the issue are sisters: Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, Elle and Dakota Fanning, Claire, Virginie, Jenna, and Prisca Courtin-Clarins, Ruby and Lily Aldridge, Poppy and Cara Delevigne, Bianca and Coco Brandolini, Beyoncé and Solange Knowles, Charlotte Gainsbourg and Lou Doillon, Pippa and Kate Middleton, and Kate and Rooney Mara are all featured inside.
