No Doubt this will be a good summer! After more than a decade since their last album release, No Doubt is reappearing in the music scene once again. The Southern California ska band dropped news of an upcoming album on Monday leaving fans excited and anticipating the release of their new album, Push and Shove.
The new album will be a follow-up to their 2001 album Rock Steady, which sold over two million copies in the U.S. and peaked at No. 9 on the Billboard 200 chart, and will be their sixth studio album. The new album is slated for release on Sept. 25, but fans can look forward to the first single off the record, “Settle Down”, which will be released on July 16. The band also revealed that they were filming the music video for the single this week and are expected to perform the song at the 2012 Teen Choice Awards on July 22.
They broke news of the new album on their website where they wrote, “Hope you are sitting down because we’ve got some really big news to share with you!”. “While adding the finishing touches to our new album we realized it was time to name it … so we did, and the name is … (drum roll please) … Push and Shove!!!” the band wrote.
The band worked with a number of producers, which include Diplo, Major Lazer, Switch and Mike “Spike” Spent for the record. While the track list isn’t confirmed, other tracks on the album could be “Heaven”, “One More Summer” and “Undone”.
The band was formed in 1986 and helped launch Gwen Stefani’s career, who is also No Doubt’s lead singer. The current members include Stefani, Tom Dumont, Tony Kunal, and Adrian Young.
