Nicki Minaj: Queen of Hip-Hop

Hip-Hop has come a long way from the times of Lil’ Kim and Foxy Brown. From one-hit rappers like Trina to Rah Digga, Nicki Minaj is the first talented female rapper in a very long time. Taking the music industry by storm with her album, “Pink Friday,” Nicki has proven that she has the rap game in the bag. Not to mention, she has been featured on singles from all the big-timers: Kanye West, Britney Spears, Lil’ Wayne, etc. So for her to be dubbed the Queen of Hip-Hop by Rolling Stone, it shouldn’t come as a surprise. But for Nicki it did, in a good way of course.

When Nicki was named the Queen of Hip-Hop, it created a major buzz for everyone in the music industry. Earlier in the week, Funkmaster Flex released a video of an interview with Nicki on his show “Funk Flex Full Throttle” where they speak about her title and her excitement. Click here to check out the video.

Since Nicki released her debut album, “Pink Friday,” it has sold more than 1,300,000 copies and I’m sure there are more to sell. Along with selling out so big, Nicki has made major appearances at the Billboard Awards, MTV Awards, The Grammys, etc. She has proven that even before being named the Queen of Hip-Hop she has really put in work for the crown. And she is wearing it very nicely.
