Imagine some of the biggest rock bands competing amongst each other for Musical March Madness trophy!

Well this March MTV hosts the second annual Musical March Madness Fest.

This week until Sun, Mar. 20 continues coverage between the first-round picks.

MTV News took the 64 biggest names in rock, split them up into four regions, put them up against one another in a single-elimination series of match-ups in a winner-take-all contest, as stated on MTV’s newsroom. Fans decide who they felt “rocked” the crowd and belted the loudest tunes from some of chart-winning tracks.

Sounds simple? Well it gives more than it demands from listeners.

If fans want to see their band advance to the next round, they must vote online on the newsroom blog.

This year’s line-up features Linkin Park, 30 Seconds to Mars, Yellowcard and Pearl Jam. Some of the most anticipated matches are Panic! At the Disco versus Avril Lavigne, and Florence and the Machine versus Brandon Flowers (polls are on the website).

So far,the top three seeds are Foo Fighters, 30 Seconds to Mars, and Arcade Fire.

For a complete list of the roster and which bands are running others scared, check out MTV.
