Jay-Z and Kanye West

As we reported yesterday, fireworks went off this weekend as the very much anticipated Kanye West and Jay-Z album Watch the Throne was made available for pre-order on the album’s official site.  Today, more details about the album everyone is looking forward to continue to emerge.

The album is being produced by West, Jay-Z, Swizz Beatz, No ID and Lex Luger and, as we hear, those are just some of the many greatest producers featured on the album.  Jay-Z’s wife Beyonce will make a splash on the album alongside Bruno Mars for a song titled “Lift Off.”  Other tracks reported to be on the album include “Murder To Excellence,” “Illest Motherf—er Alive” and “Living So Italian.”

In December 2010, Kanye West sat down with the Hollywood Reporter to talk about the album that was in the works amongst him and Jay-Z.  He said that the album has been recorded all over the world, including Paris, London, Abu Dhabi, Australia and New York.  West also described the album as “very dark and sexy – like couture hip-hop.”  Knowing Kanye, he has a few tricks up his sleeve. And we can’t leave Jay-Z out of this because he’s been rocking the mic for quite some time now.

Pusha T, member of “The Clipse” and an amazing rapper signed to G.O.O.D. Music label, told Beats by Dre TV that he’s listened to the album already and believes it’s “going to be a gem” and that their fans will be “really happy with it.”  Seems as if we have a lot of good surprises coming our way.

So many people are intrigued based on the album cover alone.  Kanye being the fashion guru he is, I bet it was his idea to team up with Givenchy’s creative director Riccardo Tisci for the metallic gold artwork.

The album is being offered in four different versions: a standard CD with 10 songs for $13.99 or the deluxe version for $16.99 with special packaging and four bonus tracks. Both are also available in MP3 form.
