Austin Brown

It has been over a year since Michael Jackson’s death, and there have been some new musicians hoping to fill in his big footsteps. Austin Brown, Jackson’s nephew, is the latest contender. Though he understands that his music will be put in a critical light because of his family background, he is smart enough to realize that he defines his music, not his family.

His preview track, “Target Practice“, has recently been released on AOL and his own website, and there is only one word for it: memorable. The music begins with an orchestrated song, using strings to create a high-energy atmosphere. Though his voice does resemble his mother’s and Michael Jackson’s, he uses it in his own way. What it comes down to is that Austin Brown is talented in his own way, even if he isn’t the next Michael Jackson.
