Platinum selling artist and Grammy Award Winner, Maxwell, has canceled his U.S. summer tour last night due to vocal swelling and hemorrhaging, according to RollingStone. Maxwell’s plan for the tour was to arrive in Los Angeles, Atlanta, and Newark to perform his entire discography in two nights.
Maxwell’s doctor recommends that he remains on complete vocal rest until further notice. As a result of his current vocal/medical restriction, the six concerts that Maxwell planned to perform at were canceled, but ticket holders for the summer concerts will receive full refunds as soon as possible.
Maxwell commented on the issue by stating: “I know this sucks but after many months of recording, I’ve temporarily damaged my voice; I’ve had issues before during other tours, but was able to power through.”
For those of you who bought tickets and are pretty upset about the cancelation, Maxwell is planning on having another tour later on this year for the release of his new upcoming album, so look out and make sure to purchase your tickets! He will most definitely be fine by then!Tags: 2012, Cancels Summer Tour, Grammy Awards, Hip-Hop, Maxwell, Neo-Soul, R&B, soul, United States
