After the success of her Material Girl Line, Madonna has just signed a deal with Iconix Brand Group to create a new line.
Madonna is launching her own lifestyle brand called Truth or Dare by Madonna for women aged between 27 and 50. The line will include a perfume, footwear, accessories, and underwear. If the brand proves to be successful, Madonna hopes to add a clothing line. According to Iconix CEO Neil Cole, the brand will start to be seen in stores in 2012. Also, Madonna will be the face of her brand, which is somewhat rare for labels.
When talking to Women’s Wear Daily, Madonna told them:
“Over the past several years, I have been approached countless times to create my own brand… [Now,] the timing is right.”
This new brand will ride on the coattails of the success of Madonna’s other fashion line, Material Girl, which is also quickly becoming a large brand. Material Girl is a brand that Madonna collaborated on with her daughter, Lourdes, made for juniors. The Material Girl line has also recently expanded into beauty.
Besides focusing on increasing her brand, Madonna is also currently working on a new album, collaborating with many of the music industry’s top artists.
