Mac Miller

Recently inducted into XXL’s 2011 Freshman Class, Pittsburgh rapper Mac Miller is quickly rising to the top of his class.

“Getting labeled an [XXL] Freshman is like a dream come true. But at the same time it’s definitely part of the next step…It’s like you get to this point and all eyes are on me.”

ll eyes are beginning to look at Miller, and all ears of hip-hop lovers are starting to listen.  19 year-old Miller has risen to recognition rather quickly with singles such as “Nikes On My Feet” and “Knock Knock.  And now Miller has a new mixtape on the way: Best Day Ever.

Adding to that, Mac Miller is already in the line-up for this summer’s annual Roots Picnic in Philadelphia, PA — a major accomplishment.

Miller expressed his excitement for the public knowing that he isn’t just a “nobody,” but he is instead a talented and hardworking artist ready to take his shot at fame. Don’t be fooled by his image: Mac doesn’t come off as the hardest hitter, but he has ill punch lines and is gaining street credibility. Inspired by a plethora of genres, he wants to have fans that dwell in the traps to those who love groups like The Beatles and Sex Pistols. He says, “My biggest goal is just to show people that we can all be together. No matter if your a straight O.G. Hustler or a trust fund baby, we can all relate to something.”

Miller is all about the listening aspect of music, not just hearing. His music is made for fans who intend on getting something out the experience. I’m excited to see what Mac is going to do as a member of the freshman class.  Check out his new song, “Donald Trump” below!
