Colbie Caillat

Singer Colbie Caillat, best known for her hits like “Bubbly” and “Realize,” has a new venture on her hands and it isn’t musical. She has signed a multiyear agreement with natural skincare brand Lily.B to become their first official celebrity spokeswoman. Caillat says, “The Lily.B line is simple, made of natural ingredients, without the use of parabens, dyes or fragrances. And I really love that they don’t test on animals.”

WWD reports that Caillat will promote Lily.B in print, online, in-store and through social media materials, and hold a series of appearances for the brand. Sounds well enough, but who exactly is Lily.B?

The brand is actually fairly new, only starting in 2010, so that would explain their lack of notoriety. It was founded by Liz Bishop, skincare guru, and she states it’s an age-defying brand and endorsed by dermatologists. The line includes things like Red Tea Defense Booster Hydrating Serum for $45.50 and a Rose Hip Infused Cleanse Facial Wash for $28.50. Because it’s still fairly new, it’s not available in a lot of stores. Their website lists a few Nebraska locations and one in Michigan, but you can buy it online at a number of different websites.

I’m a bit skeptical to pay $30-$40 dollars for a brand I’ve never really heard of…even if a Grammy-award winner is endorsing them. However, there is a deal going on right now for the brand. If you like them on Facebook, you get 20% off on your purchase. So maybe now’s the time to test them out. As of now, a lot of people aren’t familiar with the brand. Hopefully Caillat’s fame will bring the spotlight to them and then we’ll see if they really live up to all their promises.
