26-year-old indie pop singer, Lana Del Rey who’s debut album “Born to die” was released early this year is lending her sultry voice to the new H&M fall campaign.
Known for her haunting vocals and unique style Lana has drawn her fans in with a mysterious vibe. After receiving negative feedback from her performance on SNL last winter, Lana shines as she covers Blue Velvet, originally made famous by Bernie Wayne and Lee Morris.
In the vintage themed clip Lana appears to be a lounge singer with a rather interesting audience made up of 3 clone mannequins and what appears to be a very anxious man. The clip opens as she croons into the round old fashioned microphone sporting pale pink jeans and a matching mohair sweater. The camera slowly pans around to reveal a dark lit room giving the scene and eerie (cant look away) feeling.
Other looks featured in the 30 second clip include a mid sleeve floral print number and of course Lana’s signature perfectly polished poof.

What campaign is complete without a photoshoot? Lana poses for shoot by Inez and Vinoodh, who has also photographed ads for big names such as Donna Karan and Juicy Couture.
“We were looking for a style icon and singer to model our autumn/winter 2012-13 collection and Lana Del Rey was the perfect choice. We think she shows our fall fashion in a very inspiring way. The theme of the campaign is a modern and feminine woman with a soft attitude. Curves and waist are important in autumn’s silhouette,” says Public Relations Manager Chloe Bowers in an interview with The Wild Magazine.
This is not the last we will see of Lana in the fashion light. She will also be modeling in the H&M Christmas ads. Looking forward to that!Tags: fall, H&M, Inez and Vinoodh, Lana Del Rey
