“My mama warned me about boys like you, it’s a reason I wear these steel-toed boots.” Katy Perry comes swinging again with this new track—but is it for someone else?
The song “Bullet” has hit the web, and although Katy is singing it, she calls herself “Jessie James” in the chorus. It turns out that the song was actually written for country pop star Jessie James. But this isn’t Katy Perry’s first time writing songs for other artists.
She’s written for Kelly Clarkson and Selena Gomez, and now she can add country stars to her resume. Don’t get your chaps in a bunch just yet – Katy is not sliding over into the country music scene anytime soon. In fact, she has been seen writing new material.
There have been rumors that she’s been writing songs about her divorce from Russell Brand, and in my opinion, she absolutely should! On Teenage Dream, she wrote about her failed relationship with Travie McCoy (of Gym Class Heroes fame) and his problems with drug and alcohol abuse. While I hate that Katy Perry is suffering from a divorce, it sure is going to make for one hell of a CD! It’ll let us in Katy’s world and we’ll get to see how she felt about it straight from the horse’s mouth! (No country pun intended.)
Her performance at the Grammys has been confirmed along with others like Adele, Bruno Mars and Nicki Minaj. I’m glad she seems to be doing well, and we know she’s going to bring out all the stops for her first major performance after the divorce. After all, she does have to show Russell what he’s missing!Tags: Adele, Bruno Mars, bullet demo, country, Grammys, jessie james demo, Katy Perry, New Single, Nicki Minaj, Russell Brand, Travie McCoy, uk charts
