Beiber and the photographer at the scene

Pop star Justin Bieber allegedly assaulted a photographer in Calabasas, California on Sunday. The singer was seen locking arms with girlfriend Selena Gomez as he left the scene.

The “Boyfriend” singer and his beau were leaving a Calabasas mall after a matinee movie when a paparazzo got too close to the two and Bieber lost his cool. When the pair exited the theater around 12:30 pm, they were met by several other photographers as well.

After the alleged incident, the photog called 911. By the time police arrived, Beiber and Gomez had already left.  Justin’s bodyguard arrived at the scene while the man complained of chest pain to his upper torso. An ambulance was called to take him to the hospital. He was treated and released the same day, according to OK! magazine.

According to a police report, the photographer called the cops as other paparazzi snapped shots of Gomez calming down an angry Beiber as she picked up his hat and shoe that he lost during the altercation.

“THANK YOU SO MUCH to my fans for always protecting me and being there for me,” Gomez wrote on her Facebook Sunday afternoon. “I can’t thank you guys enough. I’m sorry I had to rush out. Love you guys.”

Now Beiber, Gomez and any witnesses are wanted for questioning by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s investigators. If found guilty, Beiber could be charged with misdemeanor battery.
