When I think of Johnny Depp, I don’t think of him as an actor. I don’t think of him in his roles of Sweeny Todd or Edward Scissorhands. In my mind, Johnny Depp is permanently Captain Jack Sparrow. And it looks like Mr. Depp once again touched on his inner pirate in a recent project.

Johnny Depp recruited a team of artists to compile a double CD set called “Son of Rogue’s Gallery: Pirate Ballads, Sea Songs And Chanteys.” The CD features Depp’s pirate father, Keith Richards, Patti Smith, Iggy Pop, Michael Stipe, Courtney Love, and others. Which seems pretty cool to me. One of the coolest parts of the Pirates movies is the music. I won’t lie… part of this song may have been my ringtone in college. Here is a song off “Son of Rogue’s Gallery: Pirate Ballads, Sea Songs And Chanteys”:

I wouldn’t mind throwing a pirate themed party and romping around as this music plays. Pirate music, rum, pirate costumes… sounds like a great time! Who’s with me?

Also, there is word of a Pirates of the Caribbean 5. I know of a lot of people who were bored with the Pirates phenomenon at the third movie, but not me. Fifteen more Pirates of the Caribbean movies could come out and I would pay to see each and every one of them. I can’t get enough!
