There’s no high like stepping out of a hair salon with a fresh new ‘do. However, you’d never expect your hairstylist to have been high while they gave you that ‘do! And surely you wouldn’t expect that high hairstylist to produce one of the most iconic cuts of all time!

But that’s exactly what happened to Jennifer Aniston nearly 20 years ago!

Jen’s hairstylist and BFF, Chris McMillan, also known as Hollywood’s “Mane Man,” has been cutting Jennifer’s hair ever since her early “Friends” days. And the only thing more iconic than the show itself is its main character…and I’m not talking about Jennifer Aniston as Rachel Green. I’m talking about her hair.

In 1994, Jen’s character rocked a ‘do so famous that for 20 years it’s garnered it’s own name…”The Rachel.” And unless you’re a guy and didn’t watch TV in the 90′s, you and all of your girlfriends either had or coveted this cut. However, the one thing our hairstylists didn’t tell us when we begged for this ‘do and then cried for hours after we got it, was that “The Rachel” only looked good on the Rachel we watched on “Friends.” We needed Chris McMillan…a high Chris McMillan…because that’s exactly what he was when he gave his friend that famous layered bob on “Friends.”

The Hollywood hairstylist recently confessed to WWD that he was stoned and wielding some very sharp scissors, I might add, in 1994…the year he gave Jen “The Rachel.” “I’m 14 years sober, so I feel safe to say that,” McMillan told the mag. Safe now…yes, but back then? That cut could have gone way wrong, and according to Jen, it did!

The actress once told Allure magazine, “I love Chris and he’s the bane of my existence at the same time because he started that damn Rachel, which was not my best look. How do I say this? I think it was the ugliest haircut I’ve ever seen” (The Telegraph). Ugly or not, “The Rachel” launched McMillan’s career and sent him skyrocketing into hair superstardom.

And though McMillan was high during the cut that made him famous, Kid Cudi (a.k.a. “The Lonely Stoner”), Lady Gaga, and your pothead ex-roommate who graduated cum laude would tell you that gettin’ stoned helps boost creativity! Gaga once told 60 Minutes that she smokes a lot of weed when she writes her hit songs (WetPaint.com), and ever since Cudi quit dope (DatNewCudi.com), his music’s lost its dope-ness too!

And let’s be honest…Jen’s hair has been pretty boring ever since Chris got sober. No offense McMillan, but the gal’s had the same dull ‘do now for 15 years! I’m not telling you to get back on drugs, but I am telling Jen’s hair to! You know what happens when hair gets high? Volume! And trust me…that’s a high every girl wants!

Did you guys ever get “The Rachel?” And what do you think of Chris McMillan’s confession?!
